Zach Bohny and Vered Gersztenkorn

August 29: The Fourth Wall is pleased to present our sixth online exhibition, From the Studio VI, pairing two mix media artists, Zach Bohny and Vered Gersztenkorn. Based in Fresno, California, Zach Bohny adheres to both an abstract and loosely representational code in his paintings. He works in acrylic, ink, marker, collage, and often makes his own wood frames. Vered Gersztenkorn combines abstraction, figuration, fantasy, and narrative in her paintings. She is a self-taught artist based in Israel.

“In comics, a gutter is the space between two panels that works as a transitional space – it creates a single idea from two or more images and at the same time delineates the separation of these two moments. It is a necessary but often forgotten space that both unifies and separates. About the Artists

Zach Bohny is a visual artist based in Fresno, California. He received his MFA from San Jose State University in 2017, where he earned various awards. He has had several solo and group exhibitions, including a current show at the Fresno International Airport. His works are in private collections nationally and internationally. Bohny has been featured in New American Paintings and Studio Visit Magazine. He is currently teaching at California State University, Fresno and is the Faculty Director for the Fresno Chapter of the Prison Arts Collective.

Vered Gersztenkorn taught herself to paint by observing the works of artists she admired abroad and at home in Israel. Her work is influenced by Jean Dubuffet, L’Art Brut, and “outsider” art. Gersztenkorn has exhibited internationally, including in the United States, Paris, Italy, Holland, Norway, and Israel. Her work is in private collections throughout Europe, Israel and the US.
