Livia Stein has been painting and exhibiting artwork in the San Francisco Bay Area and internationally for many years. She has traveled extensively to India and other countries in her personal research. Her work draws from art history, literature and architecture of other cultures as she navigates a somewhat surrealist edge in commenting on the absurdity of life in the 21st century. She received her Masters at San Francisco State University, Center for Interdisciplinary and Experimental Art and was a Professor of Art at Dominican University, San Rafael, California. Her work has been exhibited in Europe, South America, India and throughout the United States. Collections include the Achenbach Foundation for Graphic Arts, Oakland Museum of California, Dominican University, and University of Iowa Art Museum.
